Abstract:   (46 Views)
Background and Objectives: Knowledge Translation (KT) is a dynamic process bridging the gap between scientific evidence and its practical application. This study evaluates the status of KT from the perspective of faculty members at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
Materials & Methods: This descriptive-applied survey was conducted in 2024. The study population comprised 53 faculty members from the Faculty and Institute of Nutrition Research, selected via census sampling. Data were collected using a self-assessment KT questionnaire (Dakhesh et al.) and analyzed with SPSS version 27. Independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Spearman’s correlation were used with a significance level of p<0.05.
Results: Of the 53 participants, 64.2% were female, and 56.6% were educational faculty. The knowledge transfer domain (mean 4±0.96) and knowledge production (3.9±0.97) showed better performance compared to research question transfer (3.1±1.02) and evidence utilization promotion (3±0.99). Participation in training workshops significantly improved performance across all domains (p<0.05). Research faculty outperformed educational faculty in research question transfer and evidence promotion (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Significant gaps exist in research question transfer and evidence utilization. Strengthening training programs and organizational support is crucial for enhancing KT.
