Hormone-dependent cancers, including breast, ovarian, and endometrial cancers, are major health concerns among Iranian women. Despite widespread public beliefs that dairy products increase cancer risk, current scientific evidence indicates that moderate dairy consumption (2–3 servings/day) is either protective or neutral regarding these cancers. Recent Iranian and international studies have shown reduced risks of endometrial and breast cancers among women with higher dairy intake, while no harmful association has been observed for ovarian cancer. Dairy products contain beneficial compounds such as calcium, vitamin D, and conjugated linoleic acid that may inhibit cancer development. This policy brief highlights the urgent need for evidence-based public education and national policies to counter misinformation and promote healthy dairy consumption among women.
